Nike men's training shoes in the 1983 J.C. Penney catalog. They included the classic Nike Cortez at upper right which had become a major American style fad among both men/boys and girls/women by 1979-80 and was at the top of Nike's running shoe price scale. When this catalog was printed, Nike was still about a year away from releasing the Air Jordan, and five years from introducing their now-iconic "Just Do It" advertising slogan.
