Designed by Temple Town, this Thrissur home is filled with charming antiques and steeped in nostalgia and a reverence for traditional architecture and design.

Designed as the oasis for a young couple, the Comfort Zone personifies the coming together of contemporary designs overlaid with hints and hues of a traditional Indian home. It is a home that is meant to be and feels to be just that - a “home”. The brief was to design a home rooted in and reflecting the traditions and backgrounds of the users - of Maharashtra and South India.

Conceptualised by interior designers Snehal Mehta and Surbhi Patil of SS Story, the home showcases the client’s love for traditional Indian art and a vintage aesthetic.

The concept of the residence is an attempted derivative of the site context and the user behavioral patterns, Mozhi: a home made out of earth, soul, interactions and spatial elements.

A little American farmhouse, a touch of French modern, and then a dab of English country. This Mumbai home is a sort of maximalist mix of contemporary global hints with an old-worldly charm.

The project is named “The Oblique House” for its angular 2,200 sqft plot. It aims to deliver a simple, functional, and aesthetically pleasing home for a family of six. The design focuses on a three-bedroom layout along with a living room, Majlis area, dining space, and a spacious, clutter-free kitchen.
