The magic of December

I learned a new word while writing this poem: apricity, meaning the warmth of the sun in winter. I don’t know why but I could cry over the fact that there is a single word for this singular experience. It’s so gentle. So human. The sound of the word itself evokes the meaning of the word. It’s just perfect. What a gift!
