Made by Janet Nichols - I was asked to make a leaving cake for a bio-chemist. This is a 10" four layer lemon cake. I dowloaded some images of the instruments and made templates, which I cut from black fondant. The petri dish edge is flower paste, and I spray glazed the red top to make it shiny. The bacteria is modelled in fondant, and thinned down yellow royal icing.
