vintage sterling modernist flying saucer pinky ring or pendant
this piece took a little figuring. i first thought it was a pendant, and it could absolutely be used that way, but then i discovered some Scandinavian rings similar to this one. they were made in similar shapes but the cut-outs varied, and it took me a minute to realize that this configuration and the small-sized hole point to this being a pinky ring. i believe it was made in the sixties, has no maker's mark but is marked 925. has a few blemishes and dents, some scratches, but beautifully made. it falls between a 4.5 and 5.25 on the sizer, and since it's so wide i would recommend using it as a 4.5-ish. on the other hand, a nice cord wrapped around would make it a glorious pendant. weight: 13.4g diameter: just under 1 and 3/8" thickness: 3/8"
