Isn't this a cute illustration? I posted this with the idea that it would help me convey what it was like at our house last week. Needless to say we received more snow and cold temps. But then we warmed up a bit and it rained and we lost a lot of our snow. This is how it actually looked in our cozy living room where we spend most of our time even though we do have a family room. I can sit on the top of a dune as motionless as an uprise of weeds, until the foxes run by unconcerned. I can…

Artist Chris Dunn imagines Wenceslas as a kindly bear king and his subjects as woodland animals in an illustration for the carol “Good King Wenceslas” in the children’s book “Time for Rhyme.” Cottage Animals, Chris Dunn Illustration, Fair Core, Harry Potter Autumn, Watercolor Studies, Good King Wenceslas, Cozy Animals, Mouse Guard, The Wind In The Willows

The famed British carol about a generous king on a cold winter’s night takes inspiration from a very real Christian martyr who remains an important figure in his Czech homeland. Some United Methodists see lessons in his story for today. Heather Hahn writes for UM News.
