Grabbed a couple of hours this afternoon to reprint my larger fern linocuts. Handprinted on to Lokta paper which has a lovely natural look and feel to it, perfect for botanical style prints.

New Fiddlehead fern linocut block. The ferns in our garden are slowly unfurling and each year I plan to capture them in print. I’ve had this particular design in mind for a while and finally got round to carving it last week. I’ve also enlarged a couple of my other fern blocks so that they can be displayed together.

The two lino blocks for my bluebell linocut print. The fern block took 140 minutes to carve over several days. The theory is that printing the bluebell colour on top of the fern colour will give me a third tone for the bluebell stems. Theory is good but it doesn’t always turn out how you expect.
