Grey Partridges

The Grey Partridge - Perdix perdix - is also known as the Hungarian Partridge. Native to Europe, they were introduced into North America as a game species for hunters to shoot. When I was growing up they were quite common in the Ottawa area, penetrating into the city as far as the Carleton University campus and the Experimental Farm.
