Catherine Gohrband is an Assistant Professor and full-time faculty member in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Kentucky since 2015. Prior to this, she taught part time for the program since 2012.  She received her BS in Physical Therapy from Indiana University, a Masters in Health Sciences from the University of Indianapolis, and a Clinical Doctorate degree from the University of Kentucky. She received her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Kentucky with her Dissertation addressing the status of Clinical Rehabilitation Transitions for Persons with Lifelong Disabilities. Dr. Gohrband was a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatrics through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties from 2001 to 2021. 

Catherine’s clinical background has been in pediatrics and acute care which has included direct patient care and administrative duties in Outpatient, Private Practice, Hospital and Educational settings. She has had extensive prior experience at Clinical Education and Academic involvement with the education of physical therapist students and physical therapist assistant students.   Her current clinical work includes providing physical therapy services for a multidisciplinary clinic and providing services to children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Muscular Dystrophy and POMPE disorders.
