I moved on from pattern making to compositional studies. Working from Bruce Block's book on visual structure I created a variety of images for my research activity. This image explores flat composition. I added pattern to stylize the ocean and tried to keep it symmetrical. It was also an opportunity to simplify my representation of objects. I kept it grey scale so I could concentrate on how the pattern and flat colour interacted.
