I get this question ALL the time about our island, overhang, bar, ceiling height, etc. This kitchen configuration works perfect for us and it wasn’t that we necessarily that we chose certain measurements/dimensions…this was a renovation vs new build so we were stuck with the bones of the house and had to fit everything I wanted inside 😜. Our kitchen designer was masterful to whip up this design and plan for us! @jkbkitchenandbath 😘 Our island used to go in the opposite direction (parallel with the sink) with two tiers and I knew since the day we moved in 10 years ago that I wanted to turn the layout and have a much bigger island.
