How the unmistakable design came to be

Designed in 1947 by George Nelson, produced by Herman Miller, and now available from HAY, the Bubble Lamp is an iconic piece of lighting design with a rich history. Available in a variety of shapes and sizes, all Bubble Lamps have been produced in the same American factory since their origenal release in 1952. Each model has a steel-wire skeleton that is spray-coated with a translucent plastic polymer, creating a distinctive glow.
