Usually you pull the entire rabbit skin off in one and you get a type of “tube” during harvesting. Meat and fat needs to be scraped away from the inside of the skin. At the class someone mentioned that you can use the rabbit’s hipbone as a scrape. Once the skin is cleared of meat it can be tanned by smearing it with the brain of the animal. Then it can be smoked. Salt is often used to prepare hides but apparently it makes the hide very hard.
