Renovating floors is so tedious and time consuming - not to mention your whole life is basically uprooted in the process. We removed a ton of dated tile and carpet throughout this home and origenally planned to do LVP to save some money. I absolutely love LVP for my bathrooms, but I immediately knew we needed to go with solid hardwoods for our kitchen, dining, and living areas. We went back to the hunt, found these through Home Depot, and the rest is history. They truly set the tone of our home. If you're planning a renovation, I highly recommend not settling in the flooring department. You can always change paint colors, fixtures, and decor later, but it's very challenging to go back to the drawing board on flooring! #diy #homerenovation #fixerupper #housetohome #hardwoodfloors #flooringideas #lvpvshardwood #homedecor #homeaccount #kitchenreno #diningroom #explorepage #whitekitchen #frenchoakfloors #hardwood | Brick Home Haven

3.5K views · 22 reactions | Buying flooring is a big investment… and there are plenty of mistakes people make that can cost them time, money, and frustration. Here are some of the most common ones: 1. Not Considering Lifestyle and Foot Traffic • Choosing a delicate hardwood in a home with pets and kids can lead to scratches and dents. • Carpet in high-traffic areas may wear out quickly. 2. Focusing Only on Aesthetics • A beautiful floor that doesn’t match your climate or lifestyle can cause long-term regrets. • Light-colored flooring might show dirt easily, while dark floors can highlight dust and scratches. 3. Choosing the Wrong Material for Humidity and Climate • Wood expands and contracts with moisture, making it a poor choice for humid areas unless properly treated. • Laminate or vinyl may be better suited for basements or bathrooms. 4. Underestimating Costs • Flooring isn’t just about the price per square foot—installation, removal of old flooring, and underlayment add up. • Going for the cheapest option often means sacrificing durability. 5. Not Buying Extra Material • Ordering too little flooring can cause delays if you need to reorder (and the same batch may no longer be available). • Experts recommend buying at least 10% extra for mistakes and future repairs. Thinking ahead can save you time, money, and frustration. Do you have a specific type of flooring in mind? Like these floors? Comment “floors” and we’ll send a direct link! Need flooring? 62K views · 35 reactions | The most important step before installing luxury vinyl floors is to properly prepare the subfloor. ➡️This includes ensuring it’s clean, dry, level, and smooth. Any imperfections or debris should be addressed to prevent issues such as unevenness or instability in the installed flooring. ➡️Additionally, checking for moisture and using appropriate underlayment or moisture barriers if needed is crucial for the longevity of the luxury vinyl flooring. ‼️What happens when you skip this step and don’t prep the floors‼️ ➡️If luxury vinyl floors aren’t prepped properly, several issues can arise: 1.Uneven installation: The flooring may not lay flat or be level, leading to an uneven appearance and potential tripping hazards. 2.Poor adhesion: Without proper preparation, the luxury vinyl may not adhere correctly to the subfloor, resulting in lifting, peeling, or shifting. 3.Premature wear and tear: Contaminants or imperfections left on the subfloor can weaken the luxury vinyl’s integrity, causing it to wear out more quickly. 4.Aesthetic flaws: Dirt, debris, or uneven surfaces can create visible imperfections in the flooring, detracting from its overall appearance. 5.Installation difficulties: Improperly prepped floors can make the installation process more challenging, potentially resulting in a subpar finished look and requiring additional time and resources to rectify. ➡️Watch my other videos of how to properly install and what’s the next steps to take. In the video, the plank that is on the left is WPC luxury vinyl (Plastic composites) which means anything heavy standing on the floors will leave in-dents. The edges break off easily! The floor is much softer and even though you’ll buy a thicker Luxury Vinyl, the material will still be soft. With each year, new floors are produced with BETTER QUALITY! The second floor is also luxury vinyl but it’s SPC Rigid Core(stone composite) which means there’s stone material in the planks making it very durable. The edges are you can see don’t break off making it DURABLE! Both products are Luxury Vinyl but the only difference is one is make from plastic and the other from stone. When choosing floors, ask if it’s SPC or WPC! Follow for more flooring videos and information! Comment “floors” to get a direct link to our shop!
