Orphans: Julie Rogers artist – John Ollerton, 56, and Alice Ollerton, 54, of Lancashire, England, brought three daughters—Alice, 19; Jane Ann, 15; and Sarah, 5—to America. Father and Mother Ollerton died on the trail at the river crossings, leaving their children without parents. Alice died shortly after arriving in Salt Lake City.
