New Quizzes Overview (Students) Video Script

In this video, you will learn how to access and take an assessment in New Quizzes, and view your assessment results. To view assessments within your course, click the Quizzes link in Course Navigation. You can also view assessments from the Dashboard. Click the assessment title to view the assessment details and take the assessment.

On the Assessment Details page, you will see the due date and time limit. If your instructor allows multiple quiz attempts, you will also see the number of allowed attempts and your attempt history. You will also see any instructions provided by your instructor. To begin taking the assessment, click the Begin button.

Depending on the assessment settings, questions will all be shown on the same page or shown one at a time. You may also be able to return to previous questions by clicking the Previous button or the question number in the sidebar. Click the Pin icon to mark a question to review. In the Question Navigator, you can quickly view and navigate to any question or see which questions you have pinned for review. Click any question to view the full question. Above the questions, you will see Time Elapsed, or, if you are taking a timed assessment, you will see Time Remaining. If you log out or leave the assessment, you can resume the assessment by opening it and clicking the Resume button. After you have completed the assessment, click the Submit button.

Some question types are automatically graded while others must be graded manually by your instructor.  After your assessment has been graded, you can view your results on the Assessment Details page in Attempt History. Click the name of an attempt to view results for that attempt. If your instructor allows, you can also view results for individual questions. If the answer was incorrect, it will be indicated by an X icon. Correct answers will be indicated by a checkmark. If your instructor has added feedback to individual questions, you can view that feedback below the question. If allowed by your instructor, click the Take Now button on the assessment details page to take the assessment again.
