The Honorable David Hume, IV Joins The Court of Chancery as Magistrate In Chancery
February 10, 2025—The Delaware Court of Chancery welcomes the Honorable David Hume, IV as its newest Magistrate in Chancery. A longtime public servant with over 25 years of experience in the Delaware Department of Justice, Magistrate Hume has held key leadership roles, including Sussex County Chief Prosecutor and Chief Legal Ethics Officer. His chambers will be located in Georgetown, Delaware, though he will handle cases statewide. Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick praised his dedication to justice and extensive litigation experience..
The Delaware Court of Chancery is proud to announce its third annual Legal History Art Contest, open to Delaware students in grades 7-12, to honor the 1952 Court of Chancery rulings in Belton v. Gebhart and Bulah v. Gebhart ordering the desegregation of two Delaware public schools. In 1954, the United States Supreme Court affirmed these rulings in the landmark case Brown v. Board of Education.
January 7, 2025—Today, the Honorable Bonnie W. David was sworn in as Vice Chancellor of the Court of Chancery in a small, private ceremony at the Court of Chancery Courthouse in Georgetown, Delaware. She is the forty-fifth judicial officer appointed pursuant to the Delaware Constitution in the Court’s 232-year history. Vice Chancellor David is filling the position of Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III, who retired from the bench today.
January 2, 2025—In recognition of her leadership role, Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick has named Selena E. Molina Senior Magistrate Judge, effective January 1, 2025. In this role, Magistrate Molina will continue to handle cases and assist the Chancellor with administrative tasks associated with the Magistrate docket.

Register of
Wills
The Register of Wills is responsible for assisting individuals and attorneys with the probate process and maintains records relating to estates. The Register of Wills is a clerk of the Court of Chancery and has an office in each county of the state.
