I have been creating Retablos or Shrines for13 years now. I began this art form, assemblage while living out west: New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and I was also inspired by the religious art of Mexico and the iconography of Eastern Europe. With Freida Kahlo for my muse it was the beginning of my love affair with her art, born of her suffering , pain and endurance.
