I did my best 🫣💃🏻💗 You will need: - A glass jar with a lid - Unbleached all purpose flour - Filtered water (no chlorine - you can also let tap water sit out for an hour and the chlorine will dissipate) - Time *** anytime I am adding to the jar it’s 1/3 cup water and 1/2 cup flour *** Purists say you need a scale but this is a millennia old way of making bread and so I just don’t think you have to have one 🤓 ***when I said distilled I meant bottled. I have tested distilled now though aaaand it working fine so I mean love your life!*** Day 1 - add 1/2 cup flour and 1:3 cup water to the jar. Stir. Cover. Let sit in your counter for 24 hrs Day 2 - check up on it. Should be a few bubbles and some liquid. Stir it. Cover it. Set it aside for 24 hrs. Day 3 - feed it for the first time! First you stir it all together. Then you add the 1/3 cup water and 1/2 cup flour. Stir until combined. Cover and set aside for 24 hrs. From her in our you will feed it every day until it’s ready’ Day 4 - this is when you may want to start discarding half of what’s in the jar before you feed it. Stir. Discard half (trash, compost, per plumber - not in the sink like I use to 😆). Then add the 1/3 cup water and 1/2 cup flour. Stir until combined. Cover. Let sit 24 hours. Day 5 - 7 (or longer 10-14 days): continue to Discard. Stir. Feed. Cover. Wait. Your starter is ready when it DOUBLES in size 4-6 hours after feeding it! At that point the world of sourdough is yours to explore!! | Becca Taylor | Montell Jordan · This Is How We Do It
