As many of you know, San Francisco is not known for its' crystal clear summer days..... Most of the time in July and August we have fog, lots of fog and lots of "marine layers". Truly, I am not complaining, (remember, I am from the Pacific Northwest) after the fog burns off we have beautiful clear skies and NO rain. For me, the fog has its own unique beauty. It rolls in like cotton candy waves from the Pacific Ocean, over our coastal mountain ranges blanketing everything in quiet surreal…

In need of a local getaway? We suggest heading all the way west to the beach-bordered Outer Sunset ‘hood. Thanks to a bevy of multi-talented surfers and creative types who call the oft-foggy area home, a couple handfuls of shops and restaurants have popped up in the area just recently, and have quickly made it the ultimate day trip destination.
