I think this needs to be said because I get questions all the time from beginner photographers asking how to start their business and build a portfolio. People like to have the mindset of “I don’t have access because I live in a non-western area or I didn’t grow up on ranch” but the only person limiting your access is you. I currently live in Omaha, a non-western city and I travel for all my western shoots. Yes I grew up on a ranch, but if I did all my shoots at the ranch my portfolio…
