I'm going to start with a shoe shelf on the right-hand side and what's going to set this thing over the top is what's coming right next to it and that's going to be a place for my friend to sit down and do her makeup and what makes this different from a traditional desk is that it's actually a couple inches shorter because that provides better experience for being able to see yourself in the mirror while sitting down. Then, on the left-hand side, I'm sliding in a drawer cabinet that has larger drawers on the bottom for both of your clothes and smaller drawers on top for socks, underwear, and other accessories and my favorite part of working on this built-in was the fact that I was given complete design control and it allow me to draw up what I think they would like most for this space. And because you can never have too much storage I wanted to put some drawers underneath the vanity but not make them too deep to where your knees bump into them when you're sitting here. I was able to find them a vanity stool that works nicely with the warm wood and next I need to find a mirror above the vanity but before that I wanted to make sure I got a couple layers of clear coat on this because makeup can get pretty messy. And this will prevent stains from soaking into the wood.
