Learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἀνέρχομαι (anérkhomai). By surface analysis, αν- (an-, up, from ανα- (ana-)) +‎ έρχομαι (érchomai, come).
For sense amount: semantic loan from French s’élever.[1]
