  • (Zeeland) Attested as WILHELMINADORP, veelal het Nieuwedorp genoemd in 1849. Compound of Wilhelmina (a personal name) and dorp (village). Named after Wilhelmina of Prussia (1774-1837), the wife of King William I. See also Zealandic Wulleminadurp.
  • (Noord-Brabant) Compound of Wilhelmina (a personal name) and dorp (village). Named after Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands (1880-1962) because of the neighbourhood's proximity to the Wilhelminakanaal channel.
