krukke

[edit]krukke
Danish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Middle Low German kruke or Old English crocca, from Proto-Germanic *krogu (“pot, pitcher”), of uncertain origen. Possibly from a Proto-Indo-European root shared with Old Armenian կարաս (karas, “pitcher, large jar”), Ancient Greek κρωσσός (krōssós, “pitcher”), but the phonetics are problematic. Also compare Old Irish croiccenn (“skin”).[1][2]
