Albatross Family @FransLanting - I traveled to the Leeward Islands of Hawaii, a chain of atolls that stretches for 1,200 miles between Hawaii and Japan, to document the lives of Laysan albatrosses. Albatrosses roam the open ocean by themselves and only come ashore on remote islands to find a partner and reproduce. But once they choose a mate, they maintain an intricate partnership that lasts a lifetime. Here on Midway Island, a Laysan couple nurtures their young chick.
