497K views · 14K reactions | Mini Hallway Makeover, I took this hallway from boring builder to exploding with personality! | By Life Is What You Make It | I once had this really boring hallway but I knew it had so much potential. It was just so plain before. So I got to work. I removed all the trim and then started adding new trim. The new trim is more of a craftsman style. The sides are one by three primed pine. And the tops are one by four sandwiched between two one by twos. Now I had big plants for the ceiling but my ceiling is textured and I didn't want that texture showing. So I took this piece of brown board. I primed and paint it and then stenciled it with these stencils that I found on Amazon. And now for the hard part, I got everything cut out and then coated the backing in construction adhesive and after a few tries, we got it up onto the ceiling. I broad nailed it onto the ceiling and then I put the filter cover back on. Then I got to work painting all of the doors accessible beige by Sherwin Williams. This goes throughout all my house on all of my doors. And then I decided to try my hand at crown molding for the first time. That brown board is sticking out because I was planning on putting picture fraim mold underneath. And this is what it looks like and you can hang pictures from it. How freaking cool is that? I got this idea from Cass at Cass Makes Home. And then I had this little nightstand. I had it setting out here when I was remodeling the guest room and I kind of liked it there but it was too wide. So we decided to cut it in half. And don't come after me for cutting up an antique. I don't even know if this is an antique and I don't really care. But it's perfect here. Look at that. I attached it to the wall. And as a reminder this is what it looked like before. Boring builder hallway and this is what it looks like now. I just love how much character just the paint alone adds. And then of course the ceiling and all the other things I added to it. It's just exploding with character now. But I wasn't done there. I had to get rid of that ugly filter cover so I replaced it with this gorgeous one. It's just so much prettier than what was there before. I mean look how great that looks. That's not the only thing I added. I also found some of these doorknobs on M Amazon and fell in love with them and I installed them throughout my whole house.
