Idaho Fish and Game has received information about a bald eagle that was shot and killed near Sandpoint in the Panhandle Region. Fish and Game is requesting the public to report any information about the incident.
Wildfires are a natural and historic occurrence, but that doesn’t mean they don’t create problems for wildlife, especially when they burn more frequently, at higher intensities, and/or burn tens of thousands of acres at a time.
Members of the Southeast Region Winter Feeding Advisory Committee (WFAC) will meet on Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. to assist Idaho Fish and Game with the assessment of winter conditions and observations related to big game animals in the Southeast Region.

Bundle up the kids, grab some fishing gear and head to Hyde Pond Saturday, Feb. 1 for some ice fishing fun. The derby will be held from 9-11 a.m. and is designed for youth ages 16 years and under. Prizes for big fish in four age categories will be awarded, and lucky kids who catch one of several tagged trout during the derby will win $25.
The Southeast Region Mule Deer Advisory Committee, composed of 12 southeast Idaho sportsmen, have submitted two proposals for the Idaho Fish and Game Commission to consider during its January meeting. If the Commission gives the go-ahead, the proposals will then be included as part of the big game season-setting package to be presented to the public in February.
