64K views · 5.6K reactions | How do I store unwrapped cake pops? I get this question a lot (and first posted this video in 2022). Almost always, as soon as I finish making cake pops, I wrap & box them. However, sometimes the client wants them unwrapped - usually for something like a wedding, or large event, where guests are encouraged to eat the cake pops at the event, vs. taking them as favors. For those orders, I store the cake pops in air-tight containers. Here, each cake pop layer is cushioned with a layer of bubble wrap sandwiched between paper towels. This also helps protect the cake pops if you need to transport them to the event (as I did with these). These were made a few days before the event, and stored at room temp. PSA: Everyone’s recipes (and corresponding shelf life / storage needs) are different, so PLEASE pay attention to the storage notes on your recipe (or boxed mix), and be mindful of the ingredients in your frosting. (For example, if your frosting has cream cheese in it, you can’t store your cake pops at room temp😉). I had a baker once message me asking me why some of her cake pops were molding. My best guess is that she was improperly storing them, based on the ingredients used.
