I found this inscription today, written in a used copy of Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet. It reads: "To Carol, Immortal words as those that lie between the pages of this book should serve as a friend. - Bonnie 1967" Not only is it a beautiful inscription which speaks volumes about the work itself, but it really makes me think about the relationship between Bonnie and Carol. Who were they to one another? Family? Friends? Lovers? Either way, they must have been close.

I gave this book to my thirteen year old niece and if I ever give this book as a gift to someone again, I’ll say the exact same thing on the front page. THE LAST CHAPTER IS SO UNNECESSARY. And maybe this is rude/bold/ignorant/silly of me to encourage, but this is my blog, not yours. So back off.&
