Gary "Karbo" Karbousky arrived in Colorado in the 1970s, courtesy of the USAF, and immediately found his way to our many rivers and lakes. The "Dolly Varden Dress" was a look based off of a character in a Charles Dickens book. The look was loosely mimicked, but it was said to be a red petticoat, Polonaise style, wight he upper bodice skirt being some kind of a small floral print and topped off with a flattened bonnet.
