An electric kettle is more energy-efficient than a stovetop kettle. Electric kettles transfer heat directly to the water with minimal energy loss, achieving around 80% efficiency. In contrast, stovetop kettles lose more heat to the surroundings, with only about 70% efficiency for gas or electric stoves. Induction stoves are the most efficient at 85%, but electric kettles are more commonly used and still highly efficient for boiling water.
