Supplies • eggs • red onion skins • sliced red cabbage (purple) • grated beetroot (red) • Turmeric • Vinegar • Old stockings • Small leaves and flowers Here's how to dye your eggs with natural dyes: • Hard boil your eggs and leave them to one side to cool. Even better, blow out the eggs to eat later!) • Add your dye stuff to a cup of water per 3 eggs. Per cup of water I used: 2 tbsp turmeric (yellow), 1 cup red onion skins (red), 1 cup sliced red cabbage (purple), 1 cup grated beetroot (red). Bring to the boil, simmer for 15 minutes then remove from the heat. Leave to steep overnight. • Take some little leaves and pieces of herb and tuck them against the surface of your eggs inside an old piece of stocking. Wrap tightly to hold them in place. • Strain your dyes and add tbsp
Natural Easter Egg Dyes - Hilah Cooking
Natural Easter egg dyes! Make a rainbow of Easter eggs using natural dye made from red cabbage, turmeric and beets. With blue, yellow and red you can make orange, green, and purple eggs, too -- while teaching kids about color theory! I love the organic variations in color you get when using vegetable dyes
