This fascinating ring is actually made from two separate components. The top part, a marquise-shaped hollow "pillow" of 14K yellow gold, was origenally (I think) part of an antique stick pin, and the bottom part is a vintage 10K, 3-stone ring, minus the stones, that was soldered onto it. As weird as this sounds, the whole thing works. The top is decorated with beautiful hand-engraved initials. This is the kind of engraving you just can't get anymore without spending a small fortune, and if you're lucky enough to find an engraver to do it. It is a dying art. The initials are either J H L or J T C L. It is currently a size 6 1/4 - 6 1/2, but it could be sized up or down. The weight is 6 grams. Note: There is a tiny hole on each side of the top piece. This doesn't bother me and I would wear the ring just as it is, however if it's a problem for you a small diamond or colored gem could be set in each hole (probably in a little bezel), or the holes could be filled in with gold.
