Dresser Flip with DIY MCM base!
Here’s how I gave this outdated Dixie dresser a total makeover: • Cleaned everything inside and out with vacuum and Krud Kutter • Scuff sanded all surfaces • Peeled any loose veneer and did a TON of repairs with Bondo • Primed with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 spray can primer • Painted in Night Mission by Behr • Made a DIY base out of poplar (my Home Depot was out of red oak in the size I needed 😭) making cuts with my miter saw and using pocket holes and pocket screws to attach and secure to dresser • Touched up paint on drawer edges • Added new gold hardware I think this dresser turned out so well and is totally unrecognizable! Coastal Blue and Java Dresser
Remember the topless salvage I had posted a couple weeks back? Well I finally finished it and here he is! Replaced the top and drawer bottoms and updated with cool new arrow hardware. Base coat painted in General Finishes Coastal Blue" sealed in Flat HPTC. Drawers and top stained in "Java" with semi-gloss poly.
