I just realized you said "Ctrl+Shift+arrow". What I said in my previous post is to hold Ctrl while changing the size. At the moment changing size is only via mouse click-and-drag or the handles |

Workflow:
Current Issues:
CTRL + mousedrag on corner does NOT lock the ratio while dragging, but it does scale evenly, therefore disrupting the SQUARE ratio. mousedrag, CTRL + mousedrag on side and top handles only moves those individual handles Suggestion? Already implemented. We do closely follow Inkscape keyboard shortcut scheme. So holding Ctrl and resizing the selected region would keep the aspect ratio. As the matter of fact, I just tried it: flameshot gui --region 100x100+100+100And then hold Ctrl and drag. If you have the dimensions showing, you will see that the height and width stay equal. As for drawing a square annotation, hold Ctrl before clicking and dragging. Circle follow the same pattern. |

This feature (fixing aspect ratio upon holding Ctrl) was implemented in #2931 which was merged 2022-10-03. If you have installed Flameshot from a build generated after this date, then you have it, otherwise you don't. We have not had a release for about a year, so if you want this feature along with other improvements, your only choice is to download the nightly build and install from that: https://flameshot.org/docs/installation/development-build/ In the nighly builds, by holding Ctrl you can keep the aspect ratio static while changing the side of the selection and also while drawing objects. Therefore, this feature request is duplicate of #1132 |

The AppImage or the Flatpak should not change how Ctrl is passed to Flameshot. What is your window manager? |

Windows 10 Shift does not LOCK the aspect ratio of the window selection. It DOES mirror the WIDTH of the selection when pulling left or right (Symmetry Width) The symmetry pulls from the center of the selection Ctrl does nothing. Flameshot v12.1.0 (96c2c82) |

Please add a shortcut key to the rectangle area selection to lock it at a square ratio.
This is a popular ratio due to Instagram and other programs that require square images.
Such a simple thing, but if Flameshot adds this, would set it apart from other software, still haven't run into one that doesn't just have an extra ctrl or alt or shift context key while dragging that will limit it to equal width and height while resizing.
If I missed something and we can do this already, would appreciate it, can't find the feature :D
