flutter create results in error "Image File not found" #171228

Steps to reproduce
$ flutter create --template app --overwrite --empty flutter_application_1
Expected results
For flutter create to successfully finish.
Actual results
See error "Image File not found"
flutter_application_1/ios/Runner/Assets.xcassets/AppIcon.appiconset/Icon-App-76x76@1x.png
However, the file does indeed exist:
