The Witch is a main character and an antagonist of the musical Into the Woods. The Witch comes from the concept of the Rapunzel fairy tale from the Brother Grimm's fairy tales. She is based off of Dame Gothel (otherwise known as Mother Gothel) and based on this logic (though it is never stated in the show) it can be assumed that is also her name.
