Elgin American might be best known for their watches and compacts, but they also produced stunning lockets, some with the intricate gold designs as you see here. The Eppenstein brothers began to make watches in the 1880's and in 1890 moved their business to Elgin, Illinois which became the inspiration for their company Elgin American Manufacturing in 1898.
