Arne Jacobsen on Instagram: "The Munkegaard School (1957) north of Copenhagen played a decisive role when Arne Jacobsen was chosen to be the architect of St Catherine’ s College (1964). After research visits to sites in the UK and United States, St Catherine’s architecture committee came to Denmark. When they saw the Munkegaard School in the Copenhagen suburb of Vangede, they concluded that their search was over: Arne Jacobsen was the right architect for the new Oxford college. As described in the new book Catz by René Kural, in his design of the college, Jacobsen ‘aimed to make every student feel at home and appreciated.
