Cinnamon Star Bread (AKA Snowflake Bread)
A basic cinnamon roll dough is easily transformed into a beautiful star (or snowflake) shape known as Star Bread. Inspired by a traditional European recipe, there are so many ways to make it! This classic version is so beautiful and impressive — you won’t believe how easy it is to create!

I experimented with my one hour cinnamon roll recipe (a few reels back) and it worked great on this sheet loaf. Here’s the recipe: INGREDIENTS: 1 1/2 cups warm water 1 Tablespoon dry active yeast (My favorite is SAF yeast) 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt FILLING: 4 tablespoons butter (half a stick) 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 Tablespoon cinnamon Prepare dough in a mixer. Combine warm water with yeast and sugar. Mix and allow to proof (activate and bloom) for about 5 minutes or until foamy. Add 1 teaspoon salt and 3 1/2 cups flour. Let mix on medium speed until well combined. Sprinkle flour and knead dough on counter until smooth. Allow to rise on the counter covered with a clean towel for about 10 minutes. Roll dough into a rectangle about 10x12. Spread thin mixture of combined butter, brown sugar and cinnamon on dough. Roll dough lengthwise like you’re making cinnamon rolls. With a sharp knife make a slice down the center of the roll leaving about an inch attached at one end. Cut side up, twist dough ropes and tuck ends under. Allow to rise for 20 minutes. Add loaf to a sheet with parchment for easy clean up. Bake at 350° for 27-30 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow to cool slightly before adding buttery glaze. BUTTERY TWIST GLAZE: 1 cups powdered sugar 3 tablespoons softened butter 3-4 tablespoons heavy cream Spread glaze while warm. ENJOY! | Handmade Farmhouse
