The reason witches became demonized (or a huge part of it) was because when women practiced the same holy rituals priests and monks performed, the men felt threatened. There's a reason Evangelicals hate Catholics and think we're witches - our traditions are basically ancient witchcraft (Catholic bishops still wear amethyst to protect from negativity and quiet the mind for contemplation). But since men are performing it instead of women, we consider it holy instead of evil. #letwomenbepriests
