Chatterbox - EPR Special Edition

Page 1

Thank you to all of our colleagues across both hospitals, for your hard work, patience and positivity over the last few days as we have been switching on our new EPR digital systems.

The work that went into this weekend was truly incredible and we couldn’t have done it without the combined efforts from everyone. There are lots more exciting digital improvements to come, but for now we wanted to reflect on the last few months and celebrate what a fantastic achievement this has been.

Training

departments there was lots of activity around training.

Everybody worked so hard to get to those targets and attend our sessions either face-toface or virtually. The effort was enormous and we really appreciate it.

User acceptance testing

We carried out several User Acceptance Training sessions (UAT). Our colleagues tested the system and enabled us to fine tune things so that is was ready to go and fit for purpose. Colleagues from all departments were invited to attend these sessions, this enabled us to trial the role-based access and test the system throughout the patient pathway.

Change agents

Our Change Agents were amazing!

They worked hand in hand with the Digital Business Change Leads to get their departments ready for the Go Live weekend. Their energy and enthusiasm were essential to the programme. This is just a few of our 374 Change Agents.

What

EPR means to me

Case studies

Thank you to everyone who talked to us about how CareFlow was going to have a positive effect on the patient journey and the Trust

Your stories, opinions and experiences helped us to really understand how EPR was going to change the ways we work.

Walk rounds

Our teams came to visit both hospitals to raise awareness and answer your questions.

Your questions helped us to highlight issues and questions to help us better prepare for Go Live. Your positivity and enthusiasm were great.

Digital Health Forum

We held our first Digital Health forum with System C, so that our colleagues could understand the capabilities of our new digital systems and what was coming up in the future.

Downtime test

Our divisional leads, matrons and managers attended an EPRR event hosted by Nigel Lee and Emma-Jane Beattie in preparation for the downtime test.

This gave everyone some insight into what to expect over the downtime period on Go Live Weekend. The resilience and teamwork over the downtime test was incredible.

Floorwalker training

Our floorwalkers joined the team and went through their training.

The floorwalkers along with the data loggists, were essential to the Go Live weekend. They were easy to spot in their green t shirts and always on hand to help out colleagues with their EPR queries.

We are EPR ready

Teams did their training, sorted their Business Continuity Plans, read the newsletters and got fully onboard with the EPR programme.

There was an enormous amount of effort to get ready for the Go Live weekend –thank you.

Cakes !!!

To celebrate some amazing efforts with training across the divisions, our floorwalkers delivered cakes to the teams with the highest training compliance.

After a final meeting to decide if we should go or not go – on Friday 19 April we switched off our old systems and prepared for downtime.

It wasn’t easy and we really appreciate the effort that everyone working that weekend put in. Forms were filled in, floorwalkers were on site, the data loggists gathered up the data and the digital team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to migrate over 1 million records to the new system. On Sunday the new system was switched on in one department at a time. Thank you to you all – it may feel new and a bit daunting right now but everyone is doing a brilliant job.

This has been an amazing achievement for the Trust and the beginning of an exciting digital transformation journey. A massive thank you to all of our colleagues, the EPR Digital team, Change Agents, floorwalkers, data loggists and volunteers, for making it possible.
