Choosing to live on campus is the best decision you can make as a student. Living in the heart of Big Blue Nation makes your time at UK more fun, helps you foster deeper friendships, become more connected, and be more successful. Classrooms, eateries, the library, student support services, and your friends ... they’re all here. When you live on campus, you will be more supported socially and academically – that’s why students who live on campus tend to have higher GPAs than their peers living off campus.
PARTICIPATE IN A LIVING LEARNING PROGRAM.
Living Learning Program allows you to be part of a strong, tight-knit community focused on your interests, major, or career path. You’ll meet and make friends with people who share
passions and your classes, participate in special events, and experience the support of your fellow classmates, advisors, and professors working with your LLP community. Join one of our many thriving, supportive communities focused on helping you make the most of your college experience. Space is limited, so apply early and keep track of your application deadlines.

“If you want to get involved but you’re not sure where to start, you can start right in your residence hall. That’s one of the best things about living on campus. I met my core group of friends in the residence hall. You’re able to meet people without even trying, honestly. You’re in the elevator with them. You’re walking down the hall. You see the same people every day, so you might as well talk and build those connections. And you never know, you might meet your best friends.”

“I loved living on campus my freshman year. It’s not only how I met people but it was just nice to have so many things so close by, whether it was the laundry, or the kitchen. Being able to utilize that without having to leave my building or go very far at all was pretty nice. We don’t have any communal style bathrooms on campus so it’s all going to be those suite styles within our residence halls. You’re either going to be sharing a bathroom with one other person or three, depending on which rooming style you choose. Within each room, you’re going to have heat, AC, internet, and cable. And within each residence hall, you’re going to have one or two kitchens, study rooms, media rooms and a laundry room.”
ERIN LEMMON, SENIOR“My favorite thing about living on campus is the shorter walk or not having to commute. Instead of taking an hour trying to get to campus or even 30 minutes, that time is cut in half. Getting from one class to another, I’m talking about a 15-minute walk. Overall, being on campus more gives you the real college experience. If you’re immersed in the college atmosphere, you feel like you’re actually going to college. If you live outside of campus, I don’t know if you get as much of that ‘college’ feeling.”
LACY MAE DENNIS, JUNIOR“Having this large campus broken down into just my LLP when I first moved in really helped my adjustment period. It made it a lot easier and made it quicker for me. And so, when it came time for me to actually go to all my classes and experience campus in its entirety, I was ready for that. The LLP really builds that community for you. It gives you access to so many resources you would not have had otherwise and I do not think I would have adjusted to campus life as well as I did without the help of an LLP.”
