Pretty spooky. A bit repetitive though. Loved the ending btw.
Preeettyyy scary stuff. I jumped and scared my roomates, great game!
Alright, so that was like... Kind of repetitive, difficult in the middle, I was kinda soured on the experience until... the last level. That really turned it around for me, that was a really solid game now, haha. Awesome work! :P
your game is good
Try my game
Almost made it to retirement... Had me invested!
I didn't get scared! I played through the whole thing. So nice that Gideon was able to retire happily- yep that's what happened!
Power Lines has immaculate pacing, which has gotta be tough to get right in such a compact game! There was plenty of time spent on build-up, and the first jumpscare really caught me off guard! And no horror game is complete without a "you've got to be kidding me, there's no way I'm going back in there" moment, which you executed very well. I also liked that despite being told outright how to dodge the monster's attacks (thanks Gideon!), the placement of trees meant I had to still be mindful of positioning even once I knew the strategy.
If this wasn't a jam submission and you'd had unlimited time to make it, I'd hope for a little more variety, but I think you made the right choice in keeping the experience focused. As it stands, there's still plenty of room for surprises in these dark woods.
Great stuff- I'm glad your game is getting attention!
Damn that was really fun, I enjoyed that a lot. The level before the last one almost hard blocked me, but the final level made me very happy I pushed through. Very spooky and silly, the final power up had me laughin a lot. The fucked up creature guy was also really spooky and got a good yelp / laugh out of me on the first reveal. I think there could have been more variety with the actual power repairs, but other than that it was a very tight, economic game that didn't overstay its welcome and got a lot of good reactions from me. Nice entry!
The game is epic. But I kinda suck and died a bunch and then I fell into the ground and couldn't restart. It was fun though nice job!
GIDEON!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO He was one week away from retirement!!!!!!!!!!!
I assume this game can already be found on itch.io front page. Very well made. Loved the different actions the enemy could do.
incredibly well done, wow. i loved this so much hahaha.
OK. Hear me out.
I climbed the pole, easy. I turned on the power, easy. I let go. No fall damage? Sweet!
"Danger, cliff"
Well, there's no fall damage and you're just a sign, I thought to myself...
The torso monster didn't need to throw me down. I did it all on my own.
Great work!
So 5 stars all around, however...
I DON'T LIKE BEING SCARED!!!
Love the PS1 style graphics and the looming sense of dread.
This game made me audibly let our a shriek while playing.
Very nice, awesome job on the overall atmosphere!!
Gave me slender vibes, voted!
Uh... I think it's really well made, but... I'm not good with scary games...😅 But I played a little and voted!!
When that thing showed up I SCREAMED!! This game is well made. The graphics, sound design, game design, creature design, atmosphere. I liked everything. I really appreciate that you can turn around 180 degrees while you're hanging onto the power line.
God I hate horror games. Your's is great regardless
