Then she appealed to his sense of decency, asking what she'd done wrong to be set aside, more or less repudiating the legitimacy of the hearings with her regal manner. And she stunned Henry with her approach.

This Michael Sittow painting of Mary Magdalene is thought to be a portrait of Catherine. It was painted when she was still a Spanish princess, before going to England to marry Prince Arthur in 1501. She is probably no older than 15.
