Judging from this 1951 photo(and others), it seems that the flower sellers operated in Parliament street during the fourties and fifties.

How my recent visit to the flower mandi likely evoked imagery reminiscent of Sarojini Naidu's "The Bazaars of Hyderabad." Just as Naidu vividly describes the bustling markets filled with vibrant colors and fragrances, my experience at the flower mandi probably involved a similar sensory overload – the riot of colors from various flowers, the sweet aroma permeating the air, and the lively atmosphere bustling with activity. How incredibly Naidu's poem captures the essence of marketplaces…

This photo really reflects the vibrancy that is India - they love their marigolds and the flowers are festooned on shrines, cars, wedding bowers - and anywhere else that you can hang them. Orange certainly is a colour that you see a lot in India - and the jasmine smelled gorgeous!
