It’s custom built by professional finish carpenters, but I’m going to give you all the info to DIY. We had the BEST finish carpenters in all the land @awesometrimwork working on our home, and they custom built our mantle for a look we loved and so that we could match it to the wood beam and kitchenette wood stain we put in down there. So… I reached out to thfor the details, and here’s what they said: “We built the mantle using Clear Alder. It’s a pretty simple but sleek design. We ordered a 6” cove crown moulding from a local mill and ran that on the inside of our outer box. Then added a cleat for the inside of the
