Reading fair - like a science fair, but with books! I would love to do this for a book report type project when we study the components of stories (plote, theme, setting, conflict, etc.)!
Reading Fair Projects-M.F. in 6th grade did this and then others from the community were invited to "judge" them. (Criteria: display, ivideo which was a trailer made by the kid for the book, knowledge of the book, and appearance of the child (business casual dress))
Amazing roller coaster backdrop idea! This was a book fair or library event... but you could easily substitute the text with birthday child's name & the date, or your event name.
