Lady Emily, Marchioness of Salisbury b.1750. Sportswoman, hostess, and outspoken,saucy mistress of famous Hatfield House. As she aged,she had her grooms tie her to her horse so that she wouldn't fall off. She also refused to hand over the family jewels after her husband died. When she died in 1835, (in a fire thought to have started when feathers in her hair caught fire,) it was discovered that her fabulous family jewels were paste, having been sold throughout the years to pay debts.
